Anne joined Butler McIntyre Butler in 1984. She specialises in the areas of property law, commercial law, wills and estates. Matters that Anne advises on include leases, securities, commercial and residential property, acquisitions and sales, property developments and subdivisions, business acquisitions and sales, business structures, wills and estate planning and the administration of estates.

Anne graduated from the University of Tasmania with a Bachelor of Laws and has continued her study completing a Diploma of Corporate Management (Dip CM).

She is a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of Tasmania and the High Court of Australia and an accredited mediator with the Law Society of Tasmania and with LEADR.

Anne acts for a wide range of individual clients and corporate clients across many industries including banking, finance, health and resources.

Anne was the inaugural chairman of the Retail Tenancies Monitoring Committee and is a member of the Tasmanian ASIC Liaison Committee. She is involved with several not for profit organisations, notably having served as State Commissioner of Girl Guides Tasmania and chair of the Board of St Michael’s Collegiate School and currently is Deputy Chairman of the Trustees of the Diocese of Tasmania and secretary and public officer on the Board of Anglicare Tasmania Inc.

Maree started with Butler McIntyre Butler in 2004 and became an Associate in 2006. Maree practices in the areas of family law, criminal injuries compensation and personal injuries.

Maree began her professional career with a Bachelor of Arts (English Literature & Psychology) before returning to the University of Tasmania to study Law, graduating in 1995. Maree’s training in the discipline of psychology provides useful insight when dealing with her clients who consistently face significant emotional challenges.

Maree has a wide range of family law clients that present with relatively straight forward cases or alternatively highly complex issues. Maree also takes Legal Aid referrals.

Maree takes criminal injury referrals from a range of sources including the Victims of Crime Service, community organisations and fellow practitioners.

Maree is an active committee member of the Tasmanian Women Lawyers and is a member of the Family Law section of the Law Council of Australia. Maree enjoys the opportunity to act as a mentor to emerging junior female lawyers.

Jenny joined Butler McIntyre Butler in 2006. She works in the areas of criminal and civil litigation, including worker’s compensation law, personal injury claims, and MAIB claims.

Jenny studied Law at the University of Tasmania and graduated with First Class Honours in 2000. Her academic success led to her joining the Law Faculty’s academic staff, tutoring in criminal law and evidence law.

From 2001 to 2005 she was the Executive Officer of the Tasmanian Law Reform Institute. This involved consulting, researching and writing about a wide range of legal issues requiring reform in Tasmania. She frequently finds that the skills she gained in that position – consultation and research skills and an ability to critically examine and analyse the law (both its detail and the policy it is founded on) – are a real asset to her current clients. Jenny has a strong sense of justice and fights hard to achieve the best outcome for her clients.

Jenny comes from a large family and has two children of her own, so she understands the pressures and demands of modern life. She brings that experience to her practice and interacts with her clients in a sensitive and understanding manner. At the same time, she’s a straight-talker, giving clear explanations, honest advice, and a down-to-earth, practical approach.

Before graduating Jenny lived and worked in Japan for three years, a great experience, but one which also enhanced her appreciation of the beauty of Tasmania and Australia and our lifestyle.

Jenny plays basketball in a social roster (which involves a lot of laughs), supports the Geelong Football Club (Go Cats!) and counts skydiving as one of her achievements!

Jason has been practicing as a barrister and solicitor for 14 years after completing a combined Commerce and Law degree from the University of Tasmania . He joined our office in 2009 having a diverse professional background including 3 years working for himself.

Jason's extensive experience in property law includes;

•  commercial and residential acquisitions and sales;
•  property developments, including subdivisions, development of strata title complexes and body corporate set up and management;
•  property due diligence;
•  commercial and retail leasing, including advising clients in relation to the Code of Practice for Retail Tenancies;

In addition, Jason has experience in;

•  trusts law and business structures;
•  acquisition and sale of businesses whether through an asset sale or share sale;
•  information technology (IT);
•  company law including advice on the Corporations Act & Trade Practices and compliance;
•  governance issues, franchising, trade practices, intellectual property, ie trademarks, and general risk advice;
•  loan and security structures, drafting loan and security documents, financier due diligence and stamp duty advice;
•  insolvency matters.

Jason has assisted many clients by documenting various business deals and relationships through the preparation and negotiation of contracts. He is experienced in drafting a wide range of contracts to document various agreements between parties.

Outside the office Jason, having retired from AFL rules football, enjoys spending time outdoors including various sporting and fitness pursuits

In December 2003 Robyn graduated from the University of Tasmania with a Bachelor of Laws and was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Tasmania and the High Court of Australia in 2004. Since admission Robyn has commenced practice as an employed Barrister and Solicitor in Private Practice and joined Butler McIntyre Butler in 2007.

Robyn works for a wide variety of clients ranging from individual clients, charitable organizations, disability services to large commercial bodies and financial institutions.

Robyn has also worked as a volunteer and Committee Member at the Hobart Community Legal Service since August 2004 and was elected President of the Management Committee of the Hobart Community Legal Service for 2006–2007 and 2007-2008.

In Robyn's spare time she enjoys volunteering at the RSPCA.

Felicity graduated from the University of Tasmania with a combined Bachelor of Arts (majoring in History) and Bachelor of Law degree in 2002. She was admitted to the Supreme Court of Tasmania and High Court of Australia in 2003. Felicity began her career in the community legal sector, before entering private practice in 2006. She joined Butler McIntyre and Butler in October 2007.

Felicity works primarily in civil and commercial litigation and regularly appears as an advocate in the Magistrates Court of Tasmania.

In her spare time Felicity is an avid figure skater. She reads whenever she has the opportunity and enjoys spending time with friends and family, listening to music and bear making.

Alison studied law at the University of Sydney in New South Wales and graduated with First Class Honours in 2006. She was admitted to the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2006 and the High Court of Australia in 2007. Alison was admitted to the Supreme Court of Tasmania shortly after moving to Tasmania in 2007. Alison began her career in the litigation division of a large commercial law firm in Sydney , before working in a boutique law firm specialising in employment law. She joined Butler McIntyre and Butler in November 2007.

Alison works primarily in commercial and civil litigation.

Alison is a committee member of the Young Lawyers Association and a member of Women Lawyers Association of Tasmania.

In her spare time Alison enjoys redecorating her house, cooking, walking her two dogs and exploring her new island-state.
