Alison joined Butler McIntyre & Butler in 2007. Alison practices in the fields of general civil disputes and litigation and employment law and industrial relations.
Alison regularly assists clients with civil disputes and litigation matters in both the Magistrates Court and Supreme Court.
Alison acts for a range of employers and employees and can assist with:
- Claims of unfair dismissal, adverse action and unlawful termination;
- Claims of breach of contract including matters concerning intellectual property and restraints of trade;
- Complaints of discrimination including harassment and bullying;
- Preparing, negotiating and advising entitlements under contracts and instruments of employment including executive contracts and other common law contracts, enterprise agreements and awards;
- Redundancies;
- Human resource policies including performance management and disciplinary processes; and
- Responding to Fair Work Ombudsman investigations.
Alison studied law at the University of Sydney in New South Wales, graduating with First Class Honours in 2006. Alison began her legal career in the litigation division of a large commercial law firm in Sydney before working in a smaller boutique law firm specialising in employment law.
Alison is a current member of the Law Society’s Employment & Equal Opportunity Committee and a former member of the Young Lawyers Association (2007-2008) and was Tasmanian Women Lawyers’ Treasurer in 2009. |
